Naples, Florida, May 7th, 2020-- Local physicians, Dr. Cyndi Yag-Howard of Yag-Howard Dermatology and Aesthetic Center (www.yhderm.com) and her husband, Dr. Corey Howard of Howard Health and Wellness have recently provided a scholarship to a University of South Florida medical student, through the university's White Coat Program, to aid in their journey to becoming a physician. Both Dr. Cyndi and Dr. Corey practice locally and are very involved in the community.
Kevin Nethers was awarded the College of Medicine Class of 1993 scholarship earlier this year. A native Floridian, Nethers expressed his interest in the field of dermatology and his extreme gratitude for the scholarship in a letter written to the Naples physicians. As a student of the University of South Florida, Nethers plans to enter the field of dermatology, so that he can help those suffering from various skin conditions stay healthy and safe in the Florida sun.
The USF White Coat Program (https://giving.usf.edu/whitecoat) hosts a ceremony each year, designed to commemorate medical students as they enter their respective programs and begin their careers in health care. The program is made even more special when alumni sponsor a medical student's first white coat, helping to mark the start of their journey toward becoming a medical professional. By providing scholarships, donors are making an impact on the lives and futures of medical school students. The White Coat Ceremony for the MD Class of 2024 will be held on Thursday, September 3rd at the Tampa Convention Center.
