Cyndi Yag-Howard, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and CEO of Yag-Howard Cosmetic Dermatology in Naples, Florida.  She received her undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University, where she was on the Dean's List and received Class Honors.  She received her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine (USFMCOM), where she served as Class President, and completed residency in Dermatology at USFMCOM, where she served as Chief Resident.

 

Currently, Dr. Yag-Howard is Vice President-Elect of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors of the AAD, and member of the Board of Directors of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the Noah Worcester Dermatologic Society, the Florida Academy of Dermatology (formerly the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery), and the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons.  She is also a member of the prestigious American Dermatological Association, where she serves on the Nominating Committee. 

 

Dr. Yag-Howard is the Chair of the American Medical Association (AMA) Dermatology Section Council, responsible for leading the national advocacy efforts of our country's dermatologists at the AMA. In addition, she is Past President of the Florida Academy of Dermatology and Past Vice President of Women's Dermatologic Society.

 

Dr. Yag-Howard created the first suturing techniques course ever offered at the AAD, and morphed the course into the AAD's first hands-on course, which she continues to teach.  She specializes in innovative suturing techniques that improve aesthetic outcomes, and has taught her peer-reviewed, published techniques to dermatologists around the world.  In addition, she specializes in aesthetic dermatology and lectures to dermatologists around the world on beauty, visual processing as it relates to our perception of beauty, and the human face as living and functional art. She has published 32 peer-reviewed chapters, articles and abstracts, and has given over 100 presentations on issues of import to dermatology.

 

Dr. Yag-Howard is Associate Clinical Faculty at USFMCOM and on the editorial boards of both Dermatologic Surgery and the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.  She is also a Past Contributing Editor of Dialogues in Dermatology.  She has been honored to receive the ASDS Presidential Citation for Advocacy and more than 10 AAD Presidential Citations. 

 

She and her husband, Corey Howard, MD, FACP, who specializes in internal medicine and functional medicine, have three children, two dogs and one beautiful office space they share together in downtown Naples, FL
