TeleDermatology is a branch of telemedicine that focuses on skin care and skin health by engaging the health care provider and the patient in a live online visit using a smartphone, iPad or computer, as opposed to visiting the office in person. Telehealth is appropriate for many types of visits such as minor rashes or skin conditions, medication renewals, simple follow-ups, new non-emergent problems, and management of skin conditions that do not require a procedure. If patients are unsure, Dr. Yag-Howard will determine if a telehealth visit is appropriate, or if they need to be seen in the office.
